Same Shirt, Different Year

Updated: Apr 28

Goodness. 20 years. Where did those years go? How have the boys grown so fast and begun their own lives? All of them now adults of legal age. The Biggest Question: Where did my Hair go?

Let’s be clear about one thing though: Yes, I am wearing the same Old Navy July 4th T-Shirt in both photos. And Yes! It still fits!

I am proud of that. But you know what I am even more proud of than the fact that it still fits after 20 years?

I am even more pr

oud that the individuals from 20 years ago and today are still in the picture, but maybe not in the photo.

The Oldest son now hails from Connecticut with his own Bride. He has ceded the brotherly lead at our home to the Middle son who leads the boys pack with ‘beyond his years’ wisdom. The Youngest son is a newer addition who joined the scene in 2005 and keeps us on our toes with his mischievous ways.

But perhaps most importantly, it is the One who still sits by my side. 20 years of Ups and Downs. Triumphs and Tragedies. Love and Patience. I simply cannot imagine life without Her.

20 years. That time went Fast and it seems like Time may be picking up speed. Or perhaps, Life is just what happens when you’re busy making plans.

ANYWAY, Happy 4th of July to you my Family and Friends.

May the T-shirt still fit in 20 years!
